Our Story

We built the app we needed.

Two golfers from Quebec. One move to Vancouver. A lot of hold music, broken websites, and 5 AM alarm clocks — and eventually, one walk on the beach where we looked at each other and said: let’s just fix this.

My parents put all four of their kids in golf lessons. Me and my three brothers, out on the course whether we liked it or not. Golf was just part of life growing up — and then I met David (my semi-pro). Let’s just say it’s a part of our lives now.

Playing since I was 12. Back in Montreal I was a member at a private club — the kind where booking a round is never a second thought. Vancouver was a different story. I made friends by complaining about how impossible it was to get on a course. Very effective strategy.

BC is golf HEAVEN.
Booking a tee time here is NOT.

We moved to Vancouver and immediately ran into what every golfer in this province already knows: no snow, year-round golf, genuinely stunning courses everywhere — and somehow, actually getting on one of them is a part-time job.

David tried everything. Surrey, Delta, North Van, Richmond. At 5 AM, at 9 AM, a couple of times in the near-dark — thank god for glow-in-the-dark balls. App after app, website after website, pro shop phone calls, hold music. I lost count of how many times I heard him mutter about it. He almost got tired of saying it out loud. Almost.

And here’s the thing about me — I am genuinely, possibly pathologically, a people person. If I could spend every afternoon outside with a good group and an excuse to walk five kilometres, I would (and I do). Golf was already that for me. But watching David burn an hour+ every week just trying to get on a course drove me absolutely crazy. Time is the one thing you can’t get back. Wasting it refreshing a broken booking page felt wrong.

"Golf is one of the great joys of life. Booking it shouldn’t be the worst part of our week."

Then one genuinely beautiful Saturday, David and my brother found Gleneagles — a nine-hole gem tucked into West Vancouver with the ocean in front of you and the mountains behind you. That course saved us. It became our place. One of the best people we’ve met in Vancouver found us there — pulled us into a Saturday morning league, and the weekly scramble was finally, blessedly, solved.

And honestly? We still go through it ourselves — every time we venture beyond our usual spots to explore somewhere new in BC. This province is stunning and we’re still getting to know it. New courses, new drives, new views. We just don’t want the booking part to be the hard part anymore.

We go back to Quebec often enough to play. And very soon, we want to bring Skratch Golf there too. BC is the start — not the whole story.

📍Starting in BC — to be continued...

We’re not a faceless tech company from south of the border. We’re your neighbours. We play the same courses, deal with the same rainy-day reschedules, and genuinely care whether this platform gives you back your time — and hands you the best tee times worth remembering.
