Cookie Policy

Effective: October 2026 · Skratch Golf Inc.

This policy describes the cookies and equivalent storage technologies used by Skratch Golf Inc., the purposes for which they are deployed, and the controls available to you under applicable Canadian privacy law.

1. Overview

Skratch Golf Inc. ("Skratch Golf", "we") uses cookies and equivalent client-side storage technologies (collectively, "cookies") on skratchgolf.ca and within the Skratch Golf mobile application. This policy is incorporated by reference into our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Skratch Golf deploys strictly necessary cookies to authenticate sessions and, subject to your consent, analytics cookies to measure platform performance. We do not deploy advertising cookies, do not sell personal information, and do not share cookie data with third-party advertising networks or data brokers.

2. Categories of Cookies

Skratch Golf uses three kinds of storage: cookies the site needs to work, choices remembered on your own device, and analytics you can turn on or off. No advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking technologies are used.

Strictly Necessary

Always on

Cookies sent to our servers so the site can sign you in and keep your account secure. They cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in and bookings.

  • •Supabase sign-in (sb-…) — keeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out.
  • •Account type (skratch_role) — remembers whether your account is a coach, so pages load faster. Signed by us, expires after 10 minutes.
  • •Inactivity timer (skratch_seen) — signs partner, coach and Skratch staff accounts out after a period without activity. Golfers are not signed out by it.
  • •Trusted device (sg_ptrust) — partner and coach accounts only: skips the emailed 6-digit code on this device for 30 days, only if you tick “Remember this device”.
  • •Email confirmation pass (sg_pconfirm) — partner and coach accounts only: after you click the confirmation link, lets your first sign-in on that browser skip the code. Expires after 30 minutes or first use.
  • •Skratch staff security (sg_admtrust, sg_adm_chal) — used only on Skratch Golf’s own staff devices.
  • •Preview access (skratch_preview) — only for people we give early access to the site before launch. Expires after 30 days.
  • •Language (skratch_locale) — remembers English or French. Kept for one year, also stored on your device.
  • •Your cookie choice (skratch_cookie_consent_v1, stored on your device) — remembers your answer to the cookie banner.

Remembered on your device

Always on

Choices kept in your browser’s own storage so you don’t have to repeat them. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.

  • •Search settings — your last filters, location, search radius and home region.
  • •Favourites — the facilities you liked (also saved to your account when you are signed in).
  • •Recently viewed — facilities you looked at, used only on this device to suggest similar ones.
  • •A booking in progress — the time you picked while you sign in, and a 5-minute hold on it.
  • •Messages already seen — so the app download prompt, the after-round question and similar notices don’t keep reappearing.
  • •Front desk name — on a venue’s front desk computer only, the staff name entered for the shift (8 hours).

Analytics

Opt-in

Measurement of how the site is used. Nothing here runs until you choose “Accept all” or turn analytics on.

  • •PostHog — records page views, clicks and recordings of how the site is used, with everything typed into forms hidden. Uses a random identifier stored in a cookie and on your device (ph_…), kept for one year, and linked to your Skratch account number when you are signed in — never your name, email or phone. Your IP address is not stored.
  • •Visit counter (skratch_journey_v1, stored on your device) — counts your visits so we know at what point people download the app.

Legal basis (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25): express, opt-in consent. Off by default.

3. Managing Your Preferences

You may modify or withdraw your consent at any time:

  • •On this site: use to adjust the analytics toggle. Changes take effect immediately.
  • •Browser-level: most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent bookings.
  • •Full withdrawal: contact info@skratchgolf.ca. Upon receipt, analytics processing ceases and PostHog identifiers are deleted.

Refusing analytics cookies does not restrict access to any feature of the platform.

4. Mobile Application

The Skratch Golf app does not use browser cookies. It stores your sign-in and your preferences on your phone.

The app never sends analytics unless you allow it. Recent versions ask you once (Allow / No thanks), and you can change your answer in Profile → Preferences. Earlier versions send no analytics at all.

5. Third-Party Processors

These service providers handle limited data for us in connection with the storage described above. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • •Supabase — sign-in and database. Strictly necessary sign-in cookies. Privacy policy.
  • •PostHog — analytics on the website and in the app, opt-in only. Privacy policy.
  • •Sentry — error monitoring on the website and in the app. Sets no cookies. When something breaks it receives technical details (browser, page, the error) and your Skratch account number if you are signed in — never your name or email. Privacy policy.
  • •Vercel — hosting. Sets no visitor cookies; logs request details to prevent abuse. Privacy policy.
  • •Stripe — payments. Fraud-prevention cookies on payment screens only. Privacy policy.
  • •Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google”: Google’s own cookies on Google’s sign-in page. Privacy policy.
  • •OpenStreetMap — the map images on the facility map. Sets no cookies; receives your IP address to send the map. Privacy policy.

Skratch Golf does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, advertising conversion tracking, or any retargeting service.

7. Amendments

This policy may be amended when cookies or processors are added or removed. The effective date above reflects the most recent material change. If a new non-essential category is introduced, you will be re-prompted for consent on your next visit.
